The president?s historic restrictions on lobbying are having a significant impact in making sure that the government serves the public interest and not special interests. President Obama's lobbying reforms praised by Congressional Research Service. On Obama?s first full day in office, he signed an executive order barring people registered to lobby within the last two years from administration jobs and prohibiting new hires from taking gifts from lobbyists, working on issues related to their former employers for two years or going to work as a lobbyist for two years after leaving the administration.
