USA is the largest consumer of gas in the world: 668 billion cubic meters in 2008 ? more than in whole Europe and twice as much as in Russia. USA makes about 583 billion cubic meters of gas itself, imports 75 billion via pipelines from Canada and imports 10 billion of liquefied gas. Russian Gazprom sales volumes for USA in 2010 will make up 3.5 billion cubic meters and will grow to 20-40 billion cubic meters a year in five years. It makes up to 25 % of Gazprom?s European export.
